Clam Chowder. The version from 11/24/2009 is still a little thick with cream. Will try it again with less cream, more milk.

Roasted Butternut Puree. The version from 12/5/2009 is a little bland, grainy and incongruent. Will try again to make it lighter, simpler and more aromatic.

Butternut Squash Ravioli (12/11/2009). Inspired by Kim’s obsession with butternut squash. Unfortunately, the ravioli keeps falling apart – maybe it’s too thin? Also need some sort of sauce that will better compliment the butternut and sage.

Crab Manicotti (12/22/2009). Will need to try it again with a lighter sauce.

Pizzetta / flatbread crust

Inspired By: Seasonal pizzettas at Britta’s Café, Irvine, CA.

Held Since: Summer 2008

Current Status: Bland, doughy and tough.

Wanted: soft and chewy with a slightly sweet taste on the inside, golden and flaky on the outside.

Inspired By: Poki bowl at Tommy’s Sushi in Tustin, CA.

Held Since: Summer 2009

Current Status: Lacking correct rice texture.

Wanted: Ingredient to sweeten and spice the rice mixture.

Dessert | Sweets

Cinnamon Rolls

Inspired By: Childhood visits to Cinnabon with mom and dad.

Held Since: Winter 2007

Current Status: Thin, flat buns.  (But the cream cheese frosting is A+)

Wanted: Soft and fluffy buns.
